'Fabio Romano – whose litheness and virtuosity supported by technical cleanness
and unaffected musicality are striking – performed Chopin’s tricky Op. 58 in B minor,
a favourite piece of illustrious pianists indeed. Not in the slightest afraid of the
many difficulties hidden in the score, he rendered a concentrated and passionate
interpretation by alternating extended oases of graceful cantabiles and passages of
excruciated yet flawless lyricism. On playing a scherzo, he indulged a unique and so
amiably youthful realisation of style'.
